“The Rocket Educate Character Compass guides every learner at Rocket Educate — uniting knowledge, virtue, and purposeful action.”

The Character Compass sits at the heart of the Rocket Educate experience. It unites knowledge, virtue, and purposeful action, helping learners navigate complex choices and live with integrity and purpose. The Compass comprises four domains of character — Intellectual, Moral, Civic, and Performance — each supporting learners in becoming wise, responsible, and courageous individuals.
Assessing Virtues at Rocket Educate
Character growth is observed and nurtured through daily interactions, reflective journalling, peer and mentor feedback, and project participation. Learners track their progress in relation to the Compass virtues over time — demonstrating not only what they know, but how they think, collaborate, and act in the world.

How the Compass Works
Every strand in the Rocket Educate curriculum develops at least two virtues on the Compass.
-
Intellectual: Curiosity • Reasoning • Reflection • Judgement
-
Moral: Integrity • Compassion • Honesty • Respect
-
Civic: Service • Citizenship • Global Awareness • Responsibility
-
Performance: Resilience • Teamwork • Courage • Self-discipline
Learners earn ASTRA (Credits) by demonstrating growth in both knowledge and character through real-world projects.
Assessment Model: The Rocket Reflection Cycle
Each project concludes with:
-
Self-Reflection (What virtues did I develop?)
-
Mentor Feedback (How did I collaborate and lead?)
-
Public Presentation or Showcase (Demonstrating mastery and impact)
These feed into each learner’s Rocket Portfolio, which displays their growth across Intellectual, Moral, Civic, and Performance Virtues.
